  • About: The success of our Chamber and community hinges on the vision and selfless acts of service of many local leaders. To demonstrate our gratefulness, the Chamber presents several annual awards in conjunction with three key events:

    • Annual Meeting: The first major convening of the year for Chamber members, when the Board of Directors reports on past performance and shares the vision for year ahead. Over a delicious breakfast, the Chamber presents four awards, including: the Chair’s Award for Public-Private Partnership, the Chair's Award for Excellence in Service to the Chamber and its Members, Chamber Ambassador of the Year, and The Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award.

    • Business Excellence Awards: A dazzling red carpet event complete with a cocktail reception, awards ceremony, entertainment, the Business Excellence Awards (or BEAs) is when the Chamber Board and staff honor the best in business, including: Best University Born Business, New Business, Micro-Enterprise, Chapel Hill Young Professional (CHYP) Under 40, Mid-size Business, Business Woman of the Year, Large Business, Community Impact, Non-Profit, and Innovation Award.

    • Salute to Community Heroes: Each December, at a meaningful and festive evening event, the Chamber and its Partnership for a Sustainable Community award twelve local heroes. The awardees are first responders and outstanding community volunteers who have demonstrated remarkable, selfless acts of service. The event is free, open to the public, and refreshments are provided.
