Name: Vote for the Institute's Sustainability Changemakers Program
Date: March 15, 2010 - March 31, 2010
Event Description:
The Institute for Sustainable Development recently submitted an application to Pepsi Co. to receive one of its Pepsi Refresh Grants. Pepsi uses social marketing to identify deserving organizations and individuals that should receive one of ten $50k grants per month.

Visit the Institute profile site and vote for the Institute's Sustainability Changemakers program. Here's the link: http://www.refresheverything.com/greenpluschangemakers?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=good_luck.

A $50k grant would strengthen the Institute's sustainability fellows program by equipping 10 students with sustainability expertise; connecting those students to small businesses and non-profits; and helping those organizations track and measure their performance, social equity and environmental impact.

Anyone can vote on this project to help move the Institute up in the ranks. You can vote every day, and voting ends March 31. You will be asked to register with your e-mail address and a password.

The Institute for Sustainable Development's competitive national fellowship program connects interdisciplinary student teams with regional small businesses and non-profits to help them self-assess their organizational sustainability with an 87-indicator diagnostic tool, and track and measure their economic, environmental, and community impacts.

The Institute's Sustainability Fellows program will inspire and train a new generation of sustainability changemakers by providing them with the skills, support, and tools they need to begin their work with the North Carolina small business community. Moreover, by connecting the small business community - a group that has been left out of the national sustainability discussion - with accessible, affordable resources, the Institute is helping to make small businesses and the communities within which they reside healthier, stronger, and more competitive.
