  • Why should I create a business plan and what do I expect from it?
  • How to do I write a good business plan?
Meet David Magee

Prior to relocating to North Carolina where he is a full-time writer and business advisor, David co-founded Contango Capital Advisors, a $1.4 billion registered investment advisor headquartered in San Francisco.

Before Contango, he was the founder and CEO of Panoptic Solutions, a developer of online educational content for financial professionals. In 2004, David successfully sold Panoptic to a $7 billion market cap commercial bank.

David is a former Executive Director for Swiss Bank in San Francisco where he was Head of Private Banking; national marketing director for the bank's emerging wealth strategy; and a member of the U.S. Market Management Committee.

As a writer, David's work on topics ranging from finance to sports to politics to humor has appeared in the Huffington Post, Denver Post, Baltimore Sun, Austin Statesman, News & Observer, Salt Lake Tribune, and The Triangle Business Journal among others.

David earned his undergraduate degree in international affairs from George Washington University, a master's in international journalism from Baylor University, and a juris doctor from Tulane Law School. He speaks three languages, is a former U.S. delegate to the United Nations Graduate Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, and is an honor graduate of the U.S.M.C. Officer Candidate School.
