Why attend this Roundtable?
Employment Claims Are Up: During 2011, more claims against employers were filed with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission than in any year in its 46-year history. More claims were filed with the EEOC in North Carolina than in all but three other states.
Even employers that are not covered by federal equal employment opportunity laws can be sued for wrongful discharge and contract violations under state law. Such smaller businesses are particularly ill-equipped to defend such claims.
Employment claims are costly and wasteful, and employers can reduce the risk of claims through simple and inexpensive measures.
At this Roundtable, you will learn:
What employment claims can be made against your business
The three most important documents for avoiding employment claims (with examples provided);
The standardized procedures that will help your business avoid claims.
