Richard Smith

World-renowned fingerstyle guitarist Richard Smith makes his ArtsCenter debut! His repertoire includes original compositions, gypsy swing, Bach, and Beatles, not to mention classic fingerstyle guitar arrangements. Smith started playing guitar at age 5, often getting a piece of music under his fingers after only a single hearing, and developed a unique style combining thumbpicking and flatpicking. He has shared the stage with a virtual “who’s who“ of string wizardry, including Joe Pass, Les Paul, Sam Bush, and Béla Fleck.
