Andrea Eason and Deetra Watson of Blackman & Sloop will show how to calculate an operating reserve and lead a discussion on the technical issues for the 990 including the importance of not just treating it like a tax form, but a marketing tool for the organization. The 990 is a public document and available for all to see on Guidestar which is important because many donors dissect a 990 prior to giving.
