Event Description:
Planned Giving Strategy
Description: Nonprofits of every size, age, and mission know they should cultivate legacy gifts.  But staff and board members often feel ill-equipped to do that work.  Join us for a conversation to demystify planned gifts and to chart an approach to a full-fledged legacy program.  The Triangle Community Foundation’s Director of Planned Giving, Robin Barefoot, will lead this interactive workshop designed to offer tools and insight for legacy conversations with your donors.

What to expect:
After the workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Start conversations with donors about planned gifts
  • Easily incorporate legacy giving in your existing communications
  • Articulate the value of planned giving to your board of directors
  • Launch and sustain a legacy society
  • Guide a legacy donor in next steps to create a planned gift
Who would benefit from this workshop: This workshop is designed for development or executive directors and board members of nonprofits who want to begin a planned gift program or who are actively engaged in conversations with legacy donors.  The presentation will cover techniques and best practices and all participants will be invited to share tips and insights.
