Name: Jayme Stone’s Folklife
Date: April 27, 2018
Time: 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
Juno-winning banjoist, composer and instigator Jayme Stone makes music that both defies and honors the banjo’s long role in the world’s music, turning historical connections into compelling sounds. Jayme Stone’s Folklife – featuring Stone (banjo, voice), Moira Smiley (voice, accordion), Sumaia Jackson (fiddle, voice) and Tristan Clarridge (cello, voice) – follows the bends and bayous through the deep river of song and story. Evolving out of Stone’s Lomax Project, this gathering of versatile musicians blows the dust off of old songs and remakes them for modern ears.
